Woodland Learning
Woodland Learning afternoons take place on Tuesday for Mrs Howells class and Thursdays for Mrs Evans (please wear old clothes).

Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- To learn about our bodies, how they work and how we look after them
- To undertake activities such as gardening and planting to find out how things grow
- To explore our school environment and discover the changes Autumn brings.

Language, Literacy and Communication Skills
- To revise all the 'Jolly Phonics' sounds
- To practise writing the sounds s,a,t,i,p,n,c,k,e,h,r,m,d,g,o,u,l,f,b ai,j,oa,ie,ee and or
- To develop reading skills by learning to blend sounds and read tricky words
- To develop oral and social interaction using the 'Time to Talk' activities

Personal, Social Development, Well-being and Cultural Diversity
- To become confident with school routines and become more independent.
- To develop concentration and enhance social skills such as turn-taking and sharing.
- To learn about the Harvest festival and explore how it is celebrated around the world

Mathematical Development
- To read, write, order and count numbers to 10.
- To recognise 2D and 3D shapes.
- To compare objects for length/height and use appropriate vocabulary.
- To undertake practical addition and subtraction activities

Creative Development
- To experiment with collage, colour mixing and printing in a variety of mediums.
- To create art related to 'The Little Red Riding Hood' story
- To enjoy using percussion instruments, moving to music and singing songs.
- To join in with songs related to the body

Physical Development
- To develop gross motor skills using large outdoor equipment and apparatus
- To develop fine manipulative skills using small tools, writing equipments, dough etc.
- To develop an understanding of movement and how to explore space

Welsh Language Development
To use 'Ga i .... ?' in a variety of contexts
To use language related to the weather on a daily basis
To develop an understanding of the Welsh language through use of everyday commands and vocabulary
